Tips for this kind of estimate
- Quote labor in book hours at your posted rate; customers can check the flat-rate guide.
- Get a signature before the work begins; many states require written authorization above a threshold.
- Keep replaced parts available for the customer to inspect and say so on the estimate.
Questions
Should parts be marked up?
Shops usually price parts at retail with the markup inside the unit price, so the template defaults markup to zero; change it if you prefer a visible markup row.
What if the diagnosis changes the estimate?
Issue a revised estimate and get a new authorization; the share link always shows the latest version and records when it was accepted.
