Terms of service
Using the site or the app means you accept these terms. Two are worth reading twice: estimates are not bids, and you are responsible for the estimates you send.

1. Who we are
The site and the estimating app are published by American Build Rate, operated from Riga, Latvia ("we", "us"). Contact: hello@americanbuildrate.com.
2. Estimates are not bids
Every figure produced by our calculators, quote checker and estimating app is an estimate computed from public wage data, estimated material prices and the inputs you provide. It is not an offer, a quote or a guarantee of any price. Site conditions, permits, access, design changes and contractor availability affect real prices. Do not rely on our figures as a contract price.
3. Using the calculators
You may use the free calculators and the quote checker for personal or business planning. You may not scrape, bulk-download or republish our data or pages, or use automated tools to query the site beyond normal use.
4. Contractor accounts and subscriptions
- You must provide accurate business details and keep your login secure.
- Free plans have the limits shown on the pricing page. Paid plans are billed monthly or annually through Stripe and renew automatically until canceled. You can cancel from the billing portal; access continues until the end of the paid period. Fees are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise.
- You are responsible for every estimate, invoice and message you send with the app, including its accuracy, your licensing and insurance disclosures, and compliance with the laws of the state where you work.
- We may suspend accounts used for fraud, spam or unlawful activity.
5. Embeddable widget
If you embed our calculator on your website, submissions belong to you and are delivered to you. You must display the attribution link the widget includes, keep your allowed-domain list accurate, and not misrepresent the widget's figures as guaranteed prices.
6. Quote requests
Where a quote-request form is available, we may pass your request to the contractors or partners named on the form. We do not guarantee that any contractor will respond or that their price will match our estimate.
7. Your content
You keep ownership of the logos, client lists and estimates you upload or create. You grant us the license needed to store, display and deliver them as part of the service.
8. Our content
The site's text, diagrams, code and data compilations are ours or licensed to us. Public datasets we use remain public; our compilations and derived tables are not.
9. Availability and changes
We may change or discontinue features. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee it. We will give reasonable notice of changes that reduce a paid plan's features.
10. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, for decisions made in reliance on an estimate, or for the conduct of any contractor or partner. Our total liability for a paid plan is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Latvia. Consumers in the United States keep any protections that their local law grants and cannot be waived.
12. Changes to these terms
We will post updated terms here and change the date at the top of the page. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
