Tips for this kind of estimate
- Put the paint brand, sheen and color codes in the estimate so touch-ups years later match.
- Charge accent walls as color changes; the cut-in time is the cost, not the paint.
- Photograph existing damage before you start and note it under prep.
Questions
How do I measure wall area quickly?
Perimeter times ceiling height, minus large openings. Most painters do not subtract standard doors and windows because the cut-in time offsets the missing area.
Is exterior painting on the same template?
Yes; swap the interior lines for siding, trim and pressure washing from the painting library and add a scaffold or lift line if needed.
