How to price electrical work
Count devices, then add the home runs
Electrical estimating is a device count with wire attached. Each receptacle, switch, light and fan carries its own box, device, plate and a labor figure; the wire is priced per foot back to the panel. The library keeps device and cable separate so a remodel with long fishing runs prices differently from a new-construction rough-in with open walls.
Panel work is where scope creeps
A 200-amp service upgrade sounds like one line but often drags in a meter base, a grounding electrode upgrade, a surge protector and AFCI/GFCI breakers that the inspector will demand. Add them as separate rows, and put troubleshooting time on its own line at your first-hour rate. Customers accept a $180 permit row far more easily than a $180 mystery inside the panel price.

Does it price commercial conduit and wire runs?
The library has EMT and NM cable per foot and you can add MC, PVC or feeder items with your own unit costs. It is not a takeoff tool with plan measurement; enter quantities from your own count.
Can I keep my own device prices?
Yes. Every library item is a default; edit material or hours on the line, or save your own items to the company library.
How do I bill troubleshooting?
Use the "Troubleshooting, first hour" item with your diagnostic rate as labor and a minimum quantity of 1; add found repairs as separate lines after the visit.
