What pushes an epoxy quote up
Prep is most of the difference between a coating that lasts and one that peels. Contractors grind the slab with diamonds to open the surface; kits rely on an acid or citric etch. On the 400 sq ft example, cracks that need routing and filling add about $96, and grinding off an old coating adds about $581 at the midpoint.
Flakes cost less than you might think: leaving them out saves about $247, and they hide dust and tire marks well. The clear top coat over them is what takes the wear.
